Are you a seasoned professional in Industrial Automation (IA) with a passion for leading and mentoring a team? Do you thrive on technical challenges and excel in managing multidisciplinary projects? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Lead Industrial Automation Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and mentor a team of IA engineers, enhancing their knowledge and performance

  • Independently manage projects or act as a monodisciplinary project leader

  • Act as a key liaison between internal teams and external clients, ensuring smooth project coordination.

  • Translate project scopes into Functional Designs (FO) and Technical Designs (TO)

  • Prepare budgets for design changes and oversee project planning and execution

  • Lead and coordinate project teams comprising software and hardware engineers, designers, and draftsmen

  • Design, specify, analyze, and assess installations or components, ensuring optimal functionality

  • Take a leadership role in multidisciplinary projects, fostering collaboration across departments

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and reporting

Job requirements

HTS education in Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Measurement and Control Engineering or comparable with extensive experience

Skilled in the use of management techniques, including budgeting techniques, cost control, planning and progress techniques

At least 5 years of hands-on experience in comparable functions/roles or projects, preferably in the discrete manufacturing industry, System Integrator or machine builder

Knowledge of standards, regulations and procedures. Both technical and those used by clients

Knowledge of process and factory organizations, safety andgovernment regulations and permits

Knowledge of control engineering (PLC, SCADA and/or DCS), relay techniques and instrumentation technology


Solid and broad knowledge of electrical engineering with sound knowledge of relevant standards and regulations


Knowledge of applicable standards and guidelines, such as NEN 1010, NEN 60204, ATEX 60079 and SIL 61508/61511 is a strong advantage


Knowledge of related relevant professional disciplines
